Our Story – Notre Histoire
Nick has been good friends with Nancy’s cousin Rob since they were in grade school. So Nick and Nancy have seen each other around every once in a while. Christmas 2005 rolls around. Nancy and Nick are at the same Christmas Party at the Heroux’s house (Nick is friends with their son Steph and Nancy’s parents are good friends with Dolorese and Ray) Nancy got there a little late and when she was desprately searching for parking she finally found a spot behind a little red Ford Ranger and somehow managed to bump into it when parking and sandwiched it in between her car and another car. Nick had left the Christmas party that night when he came back in the house sayng ”some a**hole parked behind me and now I’m stuck”. That’s how they ”officialy” met.
Nick est l’ami Robert, le cousin de Nancy, depuis leur enfance. Alors Nick et Nancy se voyaient de temps en temps. Noël 2005 arrive et Nick et Nancy sont au même party. Nancy est arrivée en retard et elle a stationée son auto derrière le camion à Nick. Elle l’a coincé entre un autre auto et la sienne. Quand Nick est parti du party, il est revenu pour dire qu’un trou du cul est stationé derrière son camion et qu’il est coincé. C’est a ce moment que Nick et Nancy se sont rencontrés “officiellement”.
When Nancy was looking for a date for a wedding back in April 2006, she was sitting at her aunt Jackie’s (Rob’s mom) kitchen table and talking to Melanie (Rob’s sister) about it. Nick happened to be there signing some stuff for ONCO (fail!) and Nancy said to Mel…”I should ask Nick”. Mel told Nancy to leave him alone and that she would find someone eventually….she didn’t.
Quand Nancy cherchait quelqu’un pour être son invité à des noces en avril 2006, elle était chez sa tante en train de parler avec sa cousine Melanie ( la soeur à Robert). Nick était là avec Robert, et Nancy a suggèrée à Melanie que peut être Nick voudrait aller avec elle aux noces. Melanie a dit à Nancy de le laisser faire et qu’elle trouvera quelqu’un éventuellement…..elle est allée aux noces toute seule.
During this time frame of Christmas to April, Rob and his fiancé Stacey got pregnant and they decided to have a co-ed baby shower during the long weekend in May. Since Stacey’s family is from out of town, a big group of people went out the night before the shower to celebrate. Long story short Nancy let Nick drive her home that night and they said goodnight and Nick was on his way! The shower went great the next day and Nick and Nancy got to talking some more. They officially started dating sometime in June 2006 but consider their anniversary to be May 19, 2006. The rest is history!
Robert et son fiancée Stacey attendaient un bébé en Septembre 2006 alors ils ont décidés d’avoir un “shower” au mois de mai pour les femmes et les hommes. Puisque la famille de Stacey n’habitent pas à Windsor, un gros groupe de gens sont sortis la soirée avant le shower pour célébrer. Nick a apporter Nancy à la maison cette soirée là et ….. ils ont dit bonne nuit et Nick est parti. La prochaine journée, Nick et Nancy se sont parlés un peu plus et ils ont commencé a sortir ensemble mi-juin. Ils considèrent leur anniversaire d’être le 19 mai, 2006.
Our Engagement Story-Notre histoire de fiançailles
Nancy was getting ready to go to her cousin Melanie’s wedding shower on Sunday May 16th, 2010. Paulette (Nick’s mom) came over and asked Nick if he wanted some breakfast. Never being one to turn down free food he said yes and left the house as Nancy kept getting ready. She was just putting on the finishing touches when she opened her jewelery box to look for some bling to wear. There it was….a bright and shiny engagement ring that barely fit her pinky. Not knowing what it meant (she figured Nick would have been more official), she put it in her pocket and thought maybe someone at the shower would know. She got to the shower and asked Stacey, her mom (who didn’t think the ring was real) and everyone else what they thought it meant. The genereal concensus ws that Nancy should call Nick and see what’s up. As she opened her phone to call him, she noticed she had a text message from Nick saying “It took you 28 days to find it”. Nancy called Nick and all she could say was “Are you serious?”. Nick said “if you don’t have a ring on your finger, don’t come home”. Nancy took that as a proposal and said yes and returned to the shower with happy tears.
Nancy se préparait pour aller au shower de noces pour sa cousine Melanie le 16 mai, 2010. Paulette (la mère à Nick) est venue chez eux pour voir si Nick voullait sortir pour aller déjeuner. Nick adore la nourriture, especiallement la nourriture gratuite, alors il est parti avec sa mère en laissant Nancy toute seule pour se préparer. Elle est allée pour chercher des bijoux dans sa boîte quand elle a trouver une bague de fiançailles qui ne faisait même pas son petit doigt. Elle ne savait pas qu’est ce que ça voullait dire alors elle a mis la bague dans sa poche et elle est partie pour le shower. Elle a demandé à Stacey, sa mère (qui pensait que la bague n’était pas vraie) et n’importe qui et la majorité des personnes croyaient que Nancy devrait appeller Nick aussi tôt que possible. Nancy a ouvert son téléphone pour l’appeller et Nick avait déja envoyé un texte qui disait “Ça t’a pris 28 jours pour le trouver”. Nacy a appellé Nick et elle l’a demandé “T’es sérieux?” Nick a dit que si elle n’avait pas de bague sur son doigt, de ne pas retourner chez eux. Nancy a dit oui et a retourné au shower avec des larmes dans ses yeux.
You may be asking yourself…why 28 days? Well, apparently, Nick had the ring in his pocket since mid-April. He took the ring box and drew a huge happy face on it. He then hid the ring box in places around the house that he knew Nancy would find it (the kitchen cupboards, on top of mirrors, on book shelves). He figured, once she finds it she’ll ask him about it and he would propose. Well, needless to say, after 28days Nancy was still clueless. Nick then decided enough is enough and put the ring in her jewelery box and knew she would find it there. What he didn’t expect was for her to find it when he wasn’t home Typical Nick….so sneaky. Typical Nancy….so clueless when it matters.
Vous vous demandez peut être…pourquoi 28 jours? Eh bien, apparament Nick avait la bague dans sa poche dès mi-avril. Il a pris la boîte de bague et il a dessiné un gros sourire sur la face. Il a pris la boîte et puis il l’a caché autour de la maison dans des places que Nancy pourrait facilement le trouver. Il croyait qu’une fois qu’elle le trouve, il la demanderait. Eh bien, après 28 jours, Nancy l’a pas trouvé. Nick a décidé de cacher la bague dans sa boîte de bijoux et qu’elle le trouvera la prochaine journée. Il n’attendait pas qu’elle le trouve quand qu’il n’y était pas à la maison! C’est très typique de Nick…il est très sournois…et Nancy elle est très inconsciente au moments importants.
