So, I’m not sure everyone is aware of this but, because, as our guests, you will be getting a discounted room rate AND discounted ticket prices from Disney, you cannot purchase a dining plan along with that. You can decide to forego the discounted rates and get the dining plan if you would like. It’s really up to you. Like we mentioned before, there are other places where you can get cheap tickets (we posted a link on the right side of this page) and the room rate is only discounted by 10%. So if you are really set on getting the dining plan, you’re not giving up a lot of discounts. Or, if you really want the room discounts, keep in mind that we will be providing about 3 meals to you so the may be factor in the decision you will make as well.

It’s a stupid policy, but, unfortunately, there’s nothing we can really do about it.

So there is officially 4 months to go before our wedding!!! We are leaving for Orlando on Wednesday to go plan and we are so excited to make sure everything is going to be amazing for our guests! We are supposed to get the invitations in the mail sometime this week so they will probably be getting mailed out either next Monday or Tuesday. The shower invitations will also be going out around that time. Sorry for the delay on that front

Also, as we have mentioned before, feel free to book your rooms any time if you know you are coming to the wedding. We can only guarantee that the rooms will be available to you until June so please don’t wait too long. When you book your rooms, make sure to make your dining reservations as well! Restaurants fill up pretty quickly at Disney, especially when it’s busy time (i.e. July).

Here is a copy of the email I sent out to let you know that, if you know you are coming to the wedding, you can start booking your vacations whenever you want. Here are a few tips:

-Keep in mind when purchasing your park tickets that you probably won’t want to go to the parks the day you arrive, the day you leave, and the day of the wedding.
-If you find vacation packages online or through a travel agent, make sure you call the reservation number we gave you (407-827-6799) to compare prices. This way you can make sure you are getting the best prices out there!
-Southwest airlines is currently holding a sale on flights. I just checked the website today and, as an example, a roundtrip flight from Detroit to Orlando from July 9th to the 13th would cost around 291$ a person. To take advantage of the sale, flight reservations need to be made by February 16th. Here is the link: Southwest flight sale!
-Remember that we will be providing the following meals to you: dinner the night before and hors d’oeuvres, dinner, and dessert the night of. Keep this is mind if you are looking to get a meal plan.
-If you decide to book through an outside provider (i.e. not Disney), are staying on-property at a resort that we haven’t chosen, or are staying off property, please contact us with your reservation numbers so that we can add that to our guest info.

If you know for sure you are/aren’t coming you can let us know. It helps us a lot with budgeting.
The wedding invitations will be going out sometime at the beginning of March. The wedding shower will be on Friday, May 11th and those invites will be going out soon as well.
Also, we sent out Christmas cards with our new address…but the postal code was wrong. The right one is N8W-5X3.

So we are officially less than 180 days out which means you can make your advanced dining reservations. We strongly recommend making reservations for your meals because a lot of them run out of room quickly! Dining experiences that include characters get booked up very quickly and, since we are going in peak time (Summer) they will be booked up even quicker. You can do that by clicking here or by calling 407-WDW-DINE.

Also, you can start reserving your rooms for the trip if you are sure you are coming! We have blocked off a bunch of rooms at the following resorts: All Star Movie, Caribbean Beach, and Boardwalk Inn. You have to call the reservation number ((407) 827-6799) and mention that you are part of the Lefebvre/Trojand wedding. They will give you our discounted rate. If you do not want to stay at one of the hotels or have found a better deal, feel free to reserve your rooms any way you see fit, but please let us know your reservation number so your nights can count towards our room block.

We just need to make a quick correction on something that we wrote in our wedding information brochure. There’s a part where it says that you would need a park ticket for the day of the wedding because the surprise event takes place in Epcot. This has changed, you will NOT need a park ticket for that event anymore. The event is still going on, we are just not requiring a park ticket on your behalf.

So a few people have mentioned to us that Disney is currently offering FREE dining plans to guests that stay at Disney between now and September 2012. We looked into it a little bit more. Unfortunately, the deal is not available for the time that we will be staying there. For some reason they stop the deal at the end of March and then start it back up again in August. We will be keeping people posted on any other deals that can be applied to our group. For now, we still recommend using the links to the right to find some good deals.

So after much consideration, we have decided to change the venue of our welcome dinner from the sweltering Florida heat outdoors at Animal Kingdom to the Hoop Dee Doo Musical Review which is indoors and much cooler! The Disney website describes this musical theatre dinner show as:

An old-fashioned dinner show that includes foot-stompin’ music, nostalgic comedy and an all-you-care-to-eat dinner at Pioneer Hall in Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground. Get ready for good, ol’ country fun!

A long-time family favorite, the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue is hosted in a rustic dance hall, with rousing Wild West dancing, singing, and zany vaudeville comedy. You never know what to expect from the high-spirited Claire de Lune, Johnny Ringo, Dolly Drew, Six Bits Slocum, Flora Long and Jim Handy.

As the Pioneer Hall Players perform skits and early song standards, equally sassy Cast Members serve your countrified feast. Between laughs, chow down on pails of all-you-care-to-eat American favorites like fried chicken, smoked BBQ pork ribs, seasonal vegetable, baked beans, fresh baked corn bread and strawberry shortcake. Unlimited draft beer, wine, sangria and soft drinks are included for Guests 21 years of age or older (proper ID required).

As the performance rounds out, you may be asked to join in the finale—a musical tribute to Davy Crockett. Your inner bumpkin just might emerge.
